Cross Country
Cross Country is long distance (2 miles or more); competitive running, training; racing sport. Competitive races are done on a variety of terrain including: trails, woods, flat land, hills, grassy, sandy, and muddy. Every course is different. Training is very physically demanding and requires strong courage, commitment, discipline; dedication.
Team races encourage a team mind-set where every runner is important. A team consists of 5+ runners, the first 5 runners earn points for the team based on the place they finish. The sixth and seventh runners are also counted & used for tire breakers or replacements in case of injury during the races.
Practice
- First day of practice - Monday, August 14th.
- Practice time 6:15am Monday through Friday (no practice on meet days)
- Athletes will meet at 6am and be warmed up by the start time.
- Arrive at school in appropriate athletic clothes ready to workout. You will not enter the locker room until after the workout.
- We will meet at Don Ford Stadium or Baseball fields (Campus Run Days)
